It is very important for you to attend class in order to help your fellow group members in group activities, and to participate in class lectures. I believe that attending class is a key element in your success. You are allowed four unexcused absences. If your absence is to be excused, you must notify me by the class period following your absence (you can talk to me after class or call me at 480-461-7734). If you accumulate five unexcused absences your may be withdrawn for excess absences.
Withdrawals: You may withdraw yourself up to June 11 with a grade of "W". After June 12, I must withdraw you i.e. my signature is needed (with a grade of "W" if you are passing, or a grade of "Y" otherwise). Remember as stated above you MAY be withdrawn for excess absences (see Attendance above).
Class Disruption: Any conduct that interferes or is disruptive to myself as the instructor or the other students in the classroom or the classroom environment in general will be dealt with as prescribed in the MCC Catalog (p. 19) or the Student Handbook (p. 146). This includes expulsion from the class period and subsequent procedures as laid out in the MCC Catalog and Student Handbook.
Class Disturbances: Students may not use cell phones, pages, or other electrical devices in class. Cell phones must be in the turned off mode. Disciplinary action will follow the procedure outlined in the student handbook/college catalog. Possible disciplinary actions include (but are not limited to) removing the student from the class.
